Marco Wilson isn’t the only Florida junior defensive back opting to return for 2020. Shawn Davis announced on Wednesday that he won’t be entering the upcoming NFL Draft.

“I will be returning to the University of Florida for the year of 2020. Our team has a lot of potential and lots of unfinished business to handle and I will be apart of this Gator journey one last time. I’m anxious to get back with my brothers for this upcoming season…🐊” Davis tweeted.

The Miami Southridge product recorded a career-high 51 tackles in 2019, the fourth-most on the Gators defense. He earned co-SEC Defensive Player of the Week after UF’s win over Auburn. Davis’ one-handed interception of Tigers QB Bo Nix was one of the more memorable plays of the game. It was one of three picks for Davis in 2019.

The return of Davis and Wilson helps give Florida a solid veteran core in the secondary for 2020, even with the early departure of CJ Henderson.
