Florida's new 'I Won't Back Down' tradition is even better in close Alabama game with full stands
Florida is locked in a tight game with No. 1 Alabama. At the end of the third quarter, Alabama held a narrow 28-23 lead over the Gators.
That made Florida’s newest tradition even more special on Saturday afternoon. At the end of the third quarter, the Gators pay tribute to Gainesville native Tom Petty, the legendary rock star, by playing “I Won’t Back Down.”
And, as you can see below, it was absolutely electric on Saturday with a packed stadium singing along:

Commissioner Greg Sankey was in attendance and shared seemed to enjoy it, too:
Today was the first time Greg Sankey heard in person Florida fans’ fourth quarter rendition of Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down.”
He watched form the press box next to reporters.
“Kinda the official ‘College football is back to normal,’” I say to him.
“Yep,” he replies.

Alabama extended its lead to 31-23 early in the fourth quarter, but Florida has the ball and is driving now.
It should be a heck of a finish over on CBS!
