Former ESPN host Mike Golic rips Urban Meyer, Jaguars for Tim Tebow signing
The Jacksonville Jaguars have made waves this week by signing former Florida QB Tim Tebow to play tight end.
Some people love the move. A lot of others hate it. Count former ESPN host and personality Mike Golic among the latter group.
As you can see below, Golic didn’t hold back ripping coach Urban Meyer for the signing, questioning whether Tebow can block or catch after 8 years of not playing football:
I honestly don’t understand the Tebow move at all, 8yrs out of ball, never played the position, can he block? Can he catch? Is this the way Urban is running the show……let’s not forget Urban’s ridiculous hire of the former Iowa strength coach, which lasted about a day.

He also referenced Meyer’s ill-fated hiring of former Iowa strength coach Chris Doyle, who was embroiled in controversy while with the Hawkeyes.
Doyle’s tenure in Jacksonville lasted only a single day. Will Meyer’s tenure be a success or a failure? It seems Golic thinks Meyer is heading down the wrong path early in his first NFL stint.
