Former Florida CB Joe Haden undergoes ankle surgery
The Cleveland Browns don’t have a lot of bright spots. Now, one of the brightest ones left on the team won’t be around for a while.
The franchise announced on Friday that former Florida cornerback Joe Haden underwent ankle surgery on Wednesday and will be sidelined for the team’s entire offseason program and isn’t expected to rejoin the club until “during” training camp, meaning he’ll also miss a portion of camp.
The good news is that the Browns should at least have the six-year veteran and two-time Pro Bowler back in time for the start of the regular season. Cleveland is coming off a 3-13 season, posting its fewest victories since 2000.
Haden suffered the injury to his left ankle in Week 8 against the Cardinals. He only appeared in five games last season while suffering from several other injuries (concussion, rib, finger).
