Former Senior Bowl director credits Dan Mullen as the SEC's biggest overachiever
When you consider Mississippi State was annually projected to finish at or near the bottom of the SEC West seemingly every preseason by the prognosticators under Dan Mullen, and take into account how rarely that actually happened, it’s hard to argue with the new Florida coach being the league’s biggest overachiever.
That’s a thought recently shared by former Senior Bowl executive director and Alabama radio color analyst Phil Savage in regards to Mullen. Inspired by the performance of the Boston Celtics in the NBA Playoffs, Savage offered up his thoughts on college football’s biggest overachievers.
When it came to the SEC, Savage listed Mullen as his choice, with David Cutcliffe, Pat Fitzgerald, Bill Snyder, and Mike Leach making his list of overachievers in the sport.
With what @celtics and #CoachBradStevens are achieving so far in #NBA, here are the #CFB coaches who get the most out of their teams, IMO:
ACC- @DavidCutcliffe
B10- @coachfitz51
B12- @CoachBillSnyder
P12- @Coach_Leach
SEC- @CoachDanMullen #Overachievers— Phil Savage (@SeniorBowlPhil) May 16, 2018
