I played against a lot, I mean a hell of a lot, of very talented players.
As the defense was on the field, I typically was talking with coach G.A. Mangus, Steve Spurrier or Steve Spurrier Jr. up in the box. But sometimes I’d watch the opposing quarterback and see what kind of offense they ran.
During my college career I witnessed a few unbelievable performances by players on the other team.
My choices include Darren McFadden, A.J. Green and Percy Harvin, but I have to go with Tim Tebow.
The guy was just unstoppable in college. The other players I mentioned were also virtually unstoppable, but Tebow had the ball in his hands every play and still dominated.
I remember Tebow’s Heisman season in 2007. The Gators came in to Williams-Brice and Tebow scored seven touchdowns, 5 passing and 2 rushing. It solidified his heisman campaign as they handled us at home. It was definitely one of the best performances I’ve seen in person. He had a ton of talent around him and Tebow ran the Urban Meyer/Dan Mullen offensive scheme to perfection.
This was a difficult article to write because it’s really hard to say just one guy as the best offensive player I played against. But in the end, I had to go with Tim Tebow strictly because the guy had the ball in his hands every play and he dominated college football for four years. Here’s a look at his 2007 Heisman-winning stats.
Passing
234 of 350, 66.9 percent completion rate, 3,286 yards
32 touchdowns
6 interceptions
172.5 rating
Rushing

23 touchdowns
