Florida announces SEC matchup has been selected as 2021 Homecoming
Save the date, Florida has officially announced when its upcoming Homecoming game will be played.
The Gators are set to face off against Vanderbilt next season on Oct. 9 and that game has been scheduled as the team’s next Homecoming contest.
Florida holds an impressive 69-26-2 all-time record during Homecoming dates and has gone 27-5 since 1989, according to the school. Last season, Florida beat South Carolina 38-24 for Homecoming.
Look for the Gators to get Homecoming win No. 70 next season as Florida has beaten Vanderbilt seven years in a row and holds an all-time record of 42-10-2 over the Commodores.
Florida’s 2021 football schedule
- Sept. 4 vs. FAU
- Sept. 11 at South Florida
- Sept. 18 vs. Alabama
- Sept. 25 vs. Tennessee
- Oct. 2 at Kentucky
- Oct. 9 vs. Vanderbilt
- Oct. 16 at LSU
- Oct. 23 BYE WEEK
- Oct. 30 vs. Georgia (in Jacksonville)
- Nov. 6 at South Carolina
- Nov. 13 Samford
- Nov. 20 at Missouri
- Nov. 27 vs. Florida State
I guess next year’s schedule shapes up about like last seasons.
We can take a loss vs rotating west opponent, everything is still on the table if we beat UGA and don’t slip up against anyone else. We’ll see, but likely won’t be such heavy favorites in as many games this year.
At this point I’d guess 9-3 would be a decent baseline, 10-2 would be a win
Seems as good a choice as any. Gonna be a lot of empty seats for some of those garbage non conference games. No doubt the AD will cop out and blame big screen TVs when it is actually a result of his own lame job performance.
LOL, no troll required, this says it all! And here I was going to give kudos to UF for not scheduling powerhouse Samford as their home coming cupcake…
Yeah I’d like to say something witty here, but we have Mighty Mercer. Glass houses for all of us. I dont understand why we cant at least require that non-cons be G5 schools. At least.
At this stage of the game, I’ll take ANY game to get to Florida Field and watch the Gators. We all remember the garbage game against Valdosta State.
I’m a little surprised it wasn’t set for UT. I guess it’s too early in the season for homecoming. As a lifelong UT fan, it is painful to recognize UT is about as relevant as Vanderbilt. Someone should write a book about how to destroy an elite football program with UT as the example.
UT should have never given up on Phil Fulmer.
