Gators well-represented on Kirk Herbstreit's players, teams and coaches of the week lists
The Florida Gators looked like a potential College Football Playoff contender on Saturday, pulling off a big win over Georgia in Jacksonville.
It was a great offensive day for the Gators, and ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit liked what he saw from Dan Mullen’s squad.
As you can see below, he has Florida QB Kyle Trask atop his rankings of the top performing players of the weekend:
My top performing players of WEEK 10
1-Kyle Trask @GatorsFB
2-D’Eriq King @CanesFootball
3-D.J. Uiagalelei @ClemsonFB
4-Gerrid Doaks @GoBearcatsFB
5-Rakim Jarrett @TerpsFootball
6-Mohamed Ibrahim @GopherFootball
7-Kedon Slovis @USC_FB pic.twitter.com/Mh25Yg59Bs— Kirk Herbstreit (@KirkHerbstreit) November 10, 2020
He also had the Gators as his No. 2 team of the week, behind only Notre Dame. And, to top it all off, he had Mullen and OC Brian Johnson at No. 3 on his coaching list:
My top performing coaches of WEEK 10
1-Brian Kelly/Tommy Rees @NDFootball
2-Mike Locksley @TerpsFootball
3-Dan Mullen/Brian Johnson @GatorsFB
4-Tom Allen @IndianaFootball
5-Brent Brennan @SanJoseStateFB

Will the Gators continue to impress? If they do, a Playoff berth isn’t out of the question.
Who gives a s**t about a Kirk Herbstreit list???
Amen to that! He’s as obnoxious as Gary Danielson.
Didn’t he predict Gator loss against the Doggies.
Yes he did.
Herbie, is clearly biased. Although his son playing at Clemson gives him cover by picking ND which beat Clemson in overtime. I can’t see where Kelly did a better coaching job than Mullen.
Herbie just needs a inkling of a good northern team playing well to downplay a SEC team. IMO
I disagree, I think Herbstreit is a quality unbiased analyst. He develops his opinions as the season plays out. People get upset about him liking Clemson, newsflash his sons went there because he likes the program not the other way around. It’s ok to like that program, Dabo seems like a good guy and has developed a great program.
It’s hard not to talk about Clemson, they are one of two dynasties currently. SEC fans think that SEC football should be the only thing covered, but he is hired to cover all of football. Notre Dame is good this year, it’s ok for him to cover that.
Mullen for sure outcoached UGA this past week and you’re probably right that he deserves more credit than Kelly, but Kelly also deserves credit for pulling off the upset.
Clemson had multiple starters out on defense and obviously the Heisman favorite QB. To need overtime to beat a true freshman QB making his 2nd start ever on the road with a depleted defense, I’m not sure how you classify that as the top performing team and coach. If ND is truly a top 4 team in the country, then they should’ve won that game easily, similar to the way the Gators beat UGA.
I would love to have that freshman making his second start ever. He would probably be a top 4 SEC QB. Their rush defense was respectable keeping Etienne in check.
Consider the only two teams to be Clemson by multiple scores in the past 5 years were Bama and LSU in the CFP. So maybe his coaching/performance weren’t that but it is still respectable.
UGA’s QB situation isn’t much better than Mississippi State’s. It was an impressive win, but you can hardly consider the UGA and Clemson teams this past weekend equals.
At this point you would love to have any quarterback. Herbie is a father first and foremost. His love of Clemson is paramount because his son loves Clemson. You got it all wrong dude.
Didn’t he say that UGA not UF was the key to taking Alabama down in the sec last week
Kiss of death…
