Greg McElroy compares Anthony Richardson to legendary CFB QB (and it's not Cam Newton)
Greg McElroy had his eyes on the Utah-Florida game in The Swamp on Saturday night, and the ESPN analyst came away impressed with Anthony Richardson.
Richardson made big play after big play to keep the Gators in the game against No. 7 Utah in Billy Napier’s debut as the Florida head coach.
The easy comparison to make for Richardson is Cam Newton, who started his career at Florida before rising to stardom at Auburn. But, McElroy tweeted that Richardson is actually the closest thing he’s seen to former Texas star Vince Young:
Anthony Richardson is the closest thing I’ve seen to Vince Young in a LONG time. @GatorsFB

Vince Young led Texas to its last national championship back in 2005. Can Richardson lead the Gators back to the promised land they haven’t seen since Urban Meyer was head coach?
If Saturday night’s performance was any indication, Richardson is a truly special player.
