Starting specialist for Florida enters the transfer portal
Florida will have a new starting punter next season as Jacob Finn has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Finn notched 26 punts for the Gators this season for 1,203 yards, good for a 46.3 yards per punt average. Despite his starting status in Gainesville this season, Finn was a walk-on with the program.
The punter’s decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal was first reported by Matt Zenitz of AL.com. Finn was a redshirt senior last season with Florida but is still eligible to compete in 2021 due to the NCAA’s decision to give all players a free season of eligibility in 2020.
With Finn moving on, look for Australian Jeremy Crawshaw, who signed with Florida in the 2020 recruiting cycle, to get the first crack at landing the punting duties in Gainesville next season.
Here’s Finn’s bio courtesy of Florida’s official team site:

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!
I’d make a joke about another UF player entering the portal, but it got old many a transferee ago.
Remind me how Justin Fields is doing…
Well he may win a National Championship, but unlike Cam Newton he won’t win the Heisman.
When does the inevitable “Daniels for Heisman “ campaign kick off?
@Marsh Looks like the media started that campaign about the same time the “Trask for Heisman” campaign totally went off the rails.
All jokes aside, I’d be shocked if he is in contention at the end of 2021, even with a great year I still don’t see a UGA QB putting up the kind of numbers to be a finalist. I’d like to eat those words, but doubt it. Then again who would have thought Alabama would have a couple of QB finalist Pre-Tua.
Actually the J-TD for Heisman campaign had already started.
But don’t worry about an Emory Jones for Heisman campaign, that ain’t happening.
Saw this weekend that Emory Jones is already listed in the top 10 of college players with Heisman consideration…preseason view. Emory definitely has that potential.

Fields is doing great, definitely better than UF QB transfer Franks.
Talking about being owned, even UGA’s transfers are better than UF’s transfers
44 to 28.
Maybe because UF’s Heisman caliber QBs don’t transfer. They replace those who aren’t. Better than Smart. Brilliant.
Nature, that’s a solid take.
Emory Jones is listed 24th on this list 5000/1, same as the UCF QB and one of UGA’s RB’s

Well, then, should I make a joke about yet another UGA position player entering the portal…this time the guy who won the Cincinnati game for UGA. How many is it now?
What’s happening over there?????
SDS and (Michael Wayne the Brat) and their affinity for stirring the pot. I feel like i’m reading the Enquirer for college football, yuck.
100% Accurate. Yet here we are.
I mean, they didn’t make this or any of the other transfers up. We’ve had several players enter the transfer portal recently.
Been hearing the Aussie can boom it.
Same here AND, because he’s a rugger, that he is capable of booming them on the run.
There’s some footage of him crushing kicks in some of the recruiting compilation videos for UF. I believe also I read that the kicking program that he went through has also produced quite a few Ray Guy award winners.
Mullens always rambling on about statistics, and one of his favorites is hidden yardage so this has the potential to be a great find in that regard.
Also take note he doesn’t like for kicks to hit the ground when receiving them. Stats say that you’ll lose more yards over the year than just fielding only kicks with potential for return. He’s a football nerd but you have to appreciate his attention to detail in analysis.
77, that’s a great point you’re making. Kudos.
He boomed his first punt vs. Oklahoma. And apparently he is much better at directional kicking inside the 20.
