The Gators just landed another commitment from a quarterback in the 2021 recruiting cycle, and this time, the newest Florida pledge comes from an NFL bloodline.

Texas signal-caller Jalen Kitna announced his commitment to Dan Mullen’s program on Tuesday. Kitna is the son of former Bengals and Seahawk quarterback, Jon Kitna.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Burleson, Texas, native is rated as a three-star prospect, the No. 27 pro-style passer and a top 100 overall prospect from the state of Texas in the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Aside from his father’s ties to the NFL, Kitna’s commitment to Florida is also interesting considering the Gators currently hold a commitment from four-star Georgia passer, Carlos Del Rio. Del Rio has been committed to Florida since July of 2019.
