Jason Marshall Jr. has announced that he would be returning to play for Florida in 2024 after speculation of whether he would enter the NFL Draft.

A 5-star prospect in the Class of 2021 out of Miami Palmetto High School, Marshall has started at cornerback in 32 games over 3 years as a Gator. He was a mainstay in the DB rotation in 2021 before he carved out a starting role for himself in 2022. Marshall has recorded over 20 tackles in each year he’s been on campus and has seen an uptick in pass breakups each season, highlighted by his 10 PBUs in 2023.

Marshall passed up some high-round projections in the 2024 NFL Draft to return to Florida. At 6-foot-1, 200 lbs., Marshall has ideal size for the NFL and has already put plenty of high-quality film together in both coverage and run support.

He figures to retain his starting spot at corner for Billy Napier in ’24. Freshman phenoms Jordan Castell and Bryce Thornton are back at STAR and strong safety respectively, meaning that the UF secondary will be a seasoned and talented group next fall.
