Jerrae Hawkins announced his commitment to an SEC program on Monday per On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett. Hawkins is a product of IMG Academy.

Hawkins is listed as a 4-star WR per the 247Sports Composite. Hawkins has a host of schools interested in him including Alabama from the SEC.

Other schools that were interested in him were Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Hawkins committed to Florida via social media. What drew him to the conference is that he wanted to compete with the best. He ended up going with Florida over Penn State and Miami.

Hawkins in a native of Bradenton, Florida and comes in at 5-foot-9, 165 pounds. He is the No. 35 WR at his position and state.

The Gators currently have the second-best 2024 class in the SEC with 17 total commits. The only SEC program with a better 2024 class is reigning national champion Georgia.

Florida reached a bowl game after ending the regular season at 6-6. The Gators’ season ended with a loss to Oregon State in the Las Vegas Bowl without Anthony Richardson, who opted out to prepare for the 2023 NFL Draft.

Hawkins is the second WR from the 2024 class to commit to Florida. Izaiah Williams chose the Gators back in May.
