On Florida’s 6-0 sweep of SEC East, capped off by the win over the Gamecocks:
“Making a run through the East like we did, that’s something real special, and hard to do.”
On UF’s week 12 opponent, Florida Atlantic:
“They’re a team loaded with South Florida talent, everybody knows what kind of players are down there. For those guys coming in here, the opportunity to play in The Swamp, that’s going to juice them up.”
On using backup QB Josh Grady:
“I hope we don’t have to use Josh…But if that point comes, Josh will step in there for us and do a good job.”
On his comment about FAU players wishing they were Gators:
“There isn’t anybody that plays in the state of Florida that doesn’t want to be a Gator.”
On the Week 13 showdown with arch-rival Florida State:
“When that time comes, I’m sure they’re full of a bunch of players that wishes they were Gators, too.”
On Thursday’s practice, which has the theme of Perfect Thursday:
“Our guys were pretty on it…It picked up from Wednesday dramatically. We had some…technical errors on Wednesday. They came in with the right mindset to focus on a ‘Perfect Thursday.'”
On how injuries might impact playing time for linemen:
“We’re gonna move CeCe (DL Jefferson) around just a little bit more, both on the inside and on the outside. Obviously (DT) Khairi Clark, who’s been playing a lot, he’s going to have to do extra duty on the inside. (DE) Justus Reed, who came in and made an immediate impact in the last ball game and did some really good things for us, he’s got to pick up some of that slack on the edge. On offense, we’ve been going with an eight-or-nine person rotation, with that o-line as it is. Hopefully (OG) Travaris Dorsey should be able to get going, he’s been kind of in and out with some injuries.”
On if he looks forward to facing his former mentor, Alabama coach Nick Saban, in a Florida-Alabama SEC Championship Game:
“It’s one of those things I really look forward to, to be honest. That game will come. He ain’t worried about me, I guarantee that. And I ain’t worried about him.”
