Jim McElwain responds to conspiracy theorists about LSU game postponement
Florida coach Jim McElwain doesn’t appreciate those claiming his team purposely dodged playing LSU last weekend.
"Obviously they don't know me. They don't know our players. They don't know the Florida Gators." Mac "on dodging game" accusations #Gators

Florida last Thursday announced it would indefinitely postpone the game due to the impending threat of Hurricane Matthew, which made landfall over the weekend. But the late decision, paired with the fact that a handful of other games were played in the area, have led some to accuse the Gators of simply using the situation to avoid playing their SEC West rivals.
McElwain addressed the situation during his weekly news conference Monday, citing the damage wrought by the storm to put everything into perspective.
McElwain on critics saying Gators were dodging LSU: "19 deaths. 2.5 million without power. Families in dire needs. … Dodging a game? Wow."

The SEC and both schools are reportedly in talks about making up the contest, and conference commissioners Greg Sankey in an interview with CBS sounded hopeful it be rescheduled this season. But as of now, no new playing date has been set.
