Kadarius Toney takes to Twitter to defend Florida players who opted out of bowl game

Every year, it seems more and more top players opt out of their team’s bowl games. Unless you’re playing for a national title, the incentive just isn’t there for guys who expect to be Round 1 (or even Round 2 or Round 3) NFL Draft picks.
We’ve seen players suffer injuries in (relatively) meaningless bowl games and hurt their draft stock, costing them money.
So, when some fans took to Twitter to rip all the Florida players who opted out of Wednesday’s Cotton Bowl, WR Kadarius Toney responded. As you can see below, he basically told people not to mess with players’ ability to make money:

Toney has been rising up draft boards, with some projecting him as a late-first round pick. TE Kyle Pitts is almost a lock to be a Round 1 pick.
It’s easy to call guys out for not appearing in bowl games where their teams struggle, but the fact is that it’s a tough decision to be made. After not being paid to play college football, these athletes want to make sure they’re healthy enough to get every dollar possible from the NFL.
