Kevin O’Sullivan’s Florida staff has landed a big-time transfer via the portal. Former Virginia Tech catcher Brody Donay is returning to the Sunshine State to continue his career in Gainesville.

Donay, a 4-year varsity catcher at Lakeland (Florida) Christian High School, has completed just his freshman season of college baseball. He has 2 more seasons of college ball before being eligible again for the MLB Draft.

This past season, Donay played in 39 games, making 33 starts. He posted a .352 on-base percentage, logging 32 hits in 123 at-bats while slugging .585 with 12 home runs and 4 doubles to collect 38 RBIs.

O’Sullivan’s squad was looking for a new starting catcher following BT Riopelle’s graduation this summer.
