Kyle Trask has gone from high school backup to Heisman Trophy candidate. There has been some debate about Trask’s future in the NFL. After all, even if he were to win the Heisman Trophy, not all Heismans pan out in the pros. On Saturday, Mel Kiper Jr. shared his current NFL Draft grade for Trask.

Brandon Zimmerman of ESPN shared that Kiper grades Trask as a second-round NFL Draft prospect. Kiper has Trask as his No. 6 QB in the 2021 draft.

Trask is in his fifth year at Florida as a redshirt senior. Due to the 2020 pandemic, all college football players are able to return next year with the same eligibility they had entering this season. Trask has not officially announced his 2021 plans, though he did accept an invitation to the Senior Bowl which serves as a showcase event for seniors entering the draft.

Trask is currently the national leader in passing touchdowns with 34 through eight games. Trask is No. 4 in the country in passing yards with 2,810 and No. 2 in yards per game with 351.3.

Trask has an opportunity to boost his Heisman campaign and NFL Draft stock as Florida looks to clinch the SEC East with a win over Tennessee on Saturday. The game in Knoxville is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
