The Florida offense appeared to be in midseason form on Saturday at Ole Miss, putting up 51 points and torching the Rebels’ secondary en route to a 51-35 victory.
Yes, there were some major concerns about the Florida defense, but the offense looked awesome — particularly Kyle Trask, who threw for 416 yards, 6 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. TE Kyle Pitts also stood out, making 8 catches for 170 yards and a whopping 4 touchdowns.
After the game, there was an equal mix of praise for the offense and concerns about the defense from members of the media:
Definitely have concerns about the Florida defense but offensively, they looked like they were 10 games in to the season. Trask was lights out

There have only been two tight ends drafted in the top-10 since 2006.
Kyle Pitts may change that in the near future.
His stat line today:
— Eight catches
— 170 yards
— Four touchdowns

Say what you will about the #Gators' program-record 642 yards of offense in an SEC game. They allowed 571 to Ole Miss …

Kyle Trask with six touchdown passes today so far. He really could have a Joe Burrow like year now with an entire offseason to work with starters.

Kyle Trask joins Joe Burrow as only SEC qbs to throw 6 TDs in a conference opener #Gators

More impressive? Kyle Trask numbers or Kyle Pitts? I can’t remember last time a tight end had 4 TD. Probably happens more than I think but nothing comes to mind.

What a start for the Gators, as they put up 642 yards of offense — the most in a conference game in school history.
Florida hosts South Carolina next weekend. We’ll see if they can keep their hot start going.
