It’s official, Tim Tebow is a member of the Jaguars as his college coach pulled some strings and added the Heisman Trophy winner to the roster in Jacksonville.
This decision comes despite Tebow not setting foot on an NFL field since 2012 and the former quarterback switching to a new position (tight end) this offseason in Jacksonville.
“I want to thank the Jaguars for the opportunity to compete and earn the chance to be part of this team. I know it will be a challenge, but it is a challenge I embrace,” Tebow said via a released statement.
“I am dedicated to taking the direction of our coaching staff and learning from my teammates. I appreciate everyone’s support as I embark on this new journey.”
As could have been easily predicted, the reactions to Tebow’s signing came flying in from all over social media.
One question many had was answered by NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, what jersey number will Tebow wear? Tebow wore No. 15 for the Gators but that number is currently taken in Jacksonville by quarterback, Gardner Minshew.
New #Jaguars TE Tim Tebow will be wearing jersey number 85 today. That could change, but that’s his number for today.

A few media members made the decision to go after Tebow and the Jaguars:
I will lead. I will motivate. I will be good in the locker room, even without the talent to play in the league. I will follow my coach’s rules and, as teacher’s pet, will make sure you do too. Am I signed yet?

If Trevor Lawrence throws a touchdown pass to Tim Tebow, do not turn on ESPN for at least 7 days.
