Billy Napier is going to be back for a 4th season in Gainesville, according to AD Scott Stricklin.

That statement may be enough to ruin the mood of a few Florida fans, but from the outside looking in the move makes some sense. Nick Saban agrees.

On College GameDay Saturday morning, Saban shared his thoughts on the head coaching situation down in Florida. He insisted that despite the 4-4 record to start the year, he’s done a “heck of a job” coaching the Gators in-game.

Here’s what he had to say:

Remember, Florida has faced and lost to 3 currently ranked teams – all of which currently reside in the top 10 and look good for a College Football Playoff appearance. The Gators’ other loss? 7-2 Texas A&M.

Napier has also been without his starting QB – Graham Mertz – with backup DJ Lagway facing injury issues as well. Lagway is a game-time decision for today’s matchup against No. 5 Texas. For those wondering, kickoff is set for Noon on ABC.

The Gators have an absolutely brutal finish to the season. it starts with Texas today, but ends with battles against LSU and Ole Miss with a rivalry matchup against a struggling Florida State squad to end the year.
