Mike White may want to walk on down to Dan Mullen’s office and ask him how the Gator football program has so much success managing the NCAA transfer portal.

While Mullen has annually added playmakers to his roster via the portal, White has now lost a fourth player to the portal just this offseason as Omar Payne has made the decision to enter his name into the transfer database according to Thomas Goldkamp of 247Sports.

Payne joins Noah Locke, Ques Glover and Osayi Osifo in the NCAA transfer portal. Florida also lost guard Tre Mann this offseason as he declared early for the 2021 NBA Draft.

During his sophomore season at Florida, Payne averaged 3.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game for the Gators.

He was suspended for Florida’s first-round appearance in the 2021 NCAA Tournament after he hit Tennessee’s John Fulkerson with a vicious elbow in the 2021 SEC Tournament. Payne was ejected from that game and Fulkerson was unable to play the rest of the season as a result of the blow.

UPDATE: Payne has confirmed the news of his decision to enter the transfer portal.
