College football fans have taken in a Netflix documentary recently about former Notre Dame star Manti Te’o and his fake girlfriend. That led some to wonder if there should be another college football production in the works.

ESPN commentator Finebaum joined “The Opening Kickoff” on WNSP-FM 105.5 in Alabama and was asked if he had seen any of the streaming service’s newest series, “Untold: The Girlfriend Who Didn’t Exist,” and then Finebaum turned the conversation to another shoot he heard Netflix was involved with in recent months.

“It’s more about a school but also a well-known and famous coach who I think gave an interview for it,” Finebaum said, via, without naming the school or the coach.

Finebaum said the school was in the south (in fact, a neighboring state) and listeners of “The Opening Kickoff” would be interested.

Mark Heim, a reporter at, noted that while Netflix hasn’t released any information about the project, a Gators/Meyer documentary couldn’t be complete without an appearance from Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, right?

No confirmation yet, but we’re told you can “bet heavily” on the former quarterback to make an appearance.

Expect the project to be a four-part series that debuts in January.
