The Los Angeles Rams used a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on former Florida WR Van Jefferson.

Now, as we prepare for the 2020 season, Jefferson is waiting to get on the field with his new teammates to find out what sort of role he can carve out in the Rams’ offense.

Speaking with the team website, Rams OC Kevin O’Connell said he’s excited to see what the ex-Gator can do:

“There’s no secret to our love as a coaching staff for him,” O’Connell said of Jefferson. “His ability to run routes and understand the next-level element of running routes and separating at the top, I think he’ll fit right in from a personality and a skillset standpoint with the guys we have in that room. The great thing about rooms like that, where there’s depth but there’s also accountability and guys pushing each other, (is) they’re all going to raise their games continually to another level.”

The Rams already have Cooper Kupp, Josh Reynolds, Robert Woods and others in their receiving corps, but using a second-round pick on Jefferson shows what they think of him.

How will he fare as a rookie? We’ll see what sort of chemistry he can develop with QB Jared Goff.
