The Florida Gators have been decimated by injuries and suspensions this year and that doesn’t look likely to change ahead of this weekend’s matchup against South Carolina.

Electric WR Kadarius Toney is expected to be out once again with a shoulder injury, while OL Brett Heggie, who was injured at Mizzou, is out for the year.

Interim coach Randy Shannon addressed both injuries during his Monday afternoon press conference:

Every team deals with injuries, but the Gators have had it particularly bad this year. Still, they need to find a way to rally and be competitive against South Carolina or missing a bowl game will become a near certainty.

For a squad that looked uninspired and lost against Missouri over the weekend in a 45-16 loss, it doesn’t look like things are going to get better any time soon. Even if Toney is healthy down the stretch, this team is a long way from playing winning football.
