This week, it was announced that 5-star Clemson RB Demarkcus Bowman was transferring from the Tigers program.
That sparked many rumors that he’d end up at Florida, and players and fans reacted on social media. It seems those rumors were true.
As you can see below, Gators Territory reporter Joseph Hastings tweeted that Bowman was indeed moving to Gainesville to join the Florida program:
BREAKING: Former five-star running back Demarkcus Bowman (@Bowman_22) tells @GatorsTerritory that he is transferring to the University of Florida.
This is yet another huge pickup for Dan Mullen and company in the transfer portal.

Bowman was a 5-star player in the 2020 class and the No. 20 overall player, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He was the No. 3 running back and No. 4 overall recruit from the state of Florida.
The Gators will have a need for some depth in the backfield next year, so it’ll be interesting to see what role Bowman carves out for himself if he’s immediately eligible.
