Former Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen took the Florida job on Sunday and is busy trying to assemble his new coaching staff.

On Wednesday, it was confirmed that his defensive coordinator in Starkville, Todd Grantham, will also make the move to Gainesville.

That had been rumored to be Grantham’s decision for a couple of days now, but reporter Brett Hudson of The Commercial Dispatch on Wednesday:

Now, the Bulldogs and new head coach Joe Moorhead — who was formerly Penn State’s offensive coordinator — will have a tough task ahead of him as he tries to find a new defensive coordinator for Mississippi State moving forward.

Will the Mullen-Grantham duo be able to find success at Florida? That remains to be seen, but for now, the Gators have their head coach and defensive coordinator set for the 2018 season.

There are still a few positions open on Mullen’s Florida staff, so we’ll have to wait and see who ends up on the Florida sidelines next year.
