Report: Florida AD reveals former Georgia LB Brenton Cox’s status for Week 0 game vs. Miami

Former Georgia LB Brenton Cox transferred to Florida over the summer, and has become a popular player in Gainesville.
However, his status was still up in the air entering Saturday’s Week 0 matchup against Miami in Orlando.
According to Dawg Nation, Florida has now confirmed that Cox will not suit up, as his waiver appeal has not been settled:
Gators athletic director Scott Stricklin told DawgNation that Florida is still waiting for more information on the appeal that has been filed for Cox to have immediate eligibility.
So, Cox won’t be available on Saturday night, but there’s still a chance he could appear in games later this season.
