Florida’s basketball team appears to be getting a big boost this week as the Gators’ leading scorer Jalen Hudson is expected to return for his senior season in 2018.

This news was first reported by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. Rothstein says this information comes via Hudson’s father. Hudson originally declared for the NBA Draft without hiring an agent in late March. Because he did not hire an agent, he is eligible to return to school for one more season.

Hudson was named SEC Player of the Week three times last season, the most any Gator has ever achieved in a single season. Hudson was a junior last season, which was his first with the program after he transferred in from Virginia Tech.

Hudson averaged 15.5 points last season while shooting .404 from 3-point range.
