Former Florida enrollee Chris Steele was a highly touted member of the Gators’ 2019 recruiting class. However, following spring practices, he decided to transfer.

Originally deciding to head west to Oregon, it seems Steele has had a change of heart and will enroll at another Pac-12 program instead.

Per a report from OregonLive.com, Steele will stay closer to his California home and will reportedly enroll at USC this fall:

Amid recruiting rumblings stemming from a Trojan Insider report that the 6-foot, 180-pound cornerback, out of St. John Bosco High School (Bellflower, California), took a visit to USC on Monday, a source close to Steele’s recruitment clarified his status.

“He is going to USC,” the source said.

Rumors have been circulating about Steele since that Trojan Insider report, but this seems as close to a confirmation as we have at this point.

It’s been a long spring for the one-time Gator defensive back, and we’ll see if he does indeed end up at USC this fall.
