When the Oakland Raiders kick off the 2018 season, they’ll do so with a familiar face in their secondary.

That’s because S Reggie Nelson, a former Florida Gator, is coming back for a third year in Oakland after reportedly re-signing with the team on Saturday.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport had the news of Nelson’s signing first, reporting that the Raiders had inked him to a one-year contract:

The Raiders hired Paul Guenther to serve as new coach Jon Gruden’s defensive coordinator, and Nelson has experience playing in Guenther’s system during their time together in Cincinnati.

Last season, Nelson recorded 60 tackles, two forced fumbles and one interception. The 34-year-old safety has 36 career picks.
