The Jacksonville Jaguars selected former Florida DL Taven Bryan with the 29th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Since then, his stats haven’t backed up his draft status, as he has only 3.5 sacks in 3 seasons with the Jaguars.

It seems the Jaguars are giving Bryan a make-or-break year in 2021. Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Jaguars have declined the fifth-year option for Bryan’s rookie deal:

He has 71 total tackles and 17 quarterback hits in those 3 years. But, the Jaguars are under new leadership, and Urban Meyer and Trent Baalke don’t have any loyalty to the previous regime’s players.

We’ll see what happens with Bryan moving forward, but he’s now set to be a free agent after this season.
