The Florida Gators lost some starters along the defensive line this offseason, including Adam Shuler, Jabari Zuniga and Luke Ancrum.

However, the team was still expected to have plenty of experience at the defensive tackle position, including seniors Kyree Campbell and Tedarrell Slaton.

Now, though, a projected backup is no longer with the team, according to a report from Gators Territory:

Defensive tackle Elijah Conliffe is no longer with the team and has received a medical exception, UF director of football communications Skip Powers confirmed Tuesday to Gators Territory.

Conliffe missed the entire 2019 season with an injury, but it was never specified what that injury was.

In 2018, he recorded 13 tackles and recovered a fumble in 11 games.
