Riley Kugel is returning to Florida for the 2023-24 season.
Kugel, who could have opted to begin his professional career, made that announcement on Tuesday afternoon:

Kugel, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard, had a very impressive freshman season with the Gators. He scored 9.9 points per game while shooting 45.6% from the floor.
Perhaps most importantly, Kugel flashed high-level athleticism that caught the attention of NBA scouts. He’s likely to enter next season on the radar of being a 1st round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Kugel also made 37.6% of his 3-point attempts.
His return is big news for a Florida team that will be looking to take a big step forward next season. The Gators missed the NCAA Tournament this season for the 2nd year in a row.
Florida has already secured a commitment from one transfer this cycle: former Yale forward EJ Jarvis. The Gators are also expected to add a pair of high school prospects to their roster for next season in the class of 2023.
