Robert Griffin III gave his thoughts on the best NFL landing spot for former Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson.

For next month’s draft, Richardson will likely be a top 10 selection. Teams in the market for a quarterback in the draft include the Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, and Indianapolis Colts. In an appearance on ESPN’s Get Up, Griffin shared the best landing spots for several of the top quarterbacks in the upcoming draft.

Griffin believed that the Indianapolis Colts are the best destination for Richardson in the NFL. He spoke about the fit between Richardson and the Colts:

“This one is a clear-cut deal. It’s the Indianapolis Colts. Why? Shane Steichen just came from working with Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. He knows how to get the most out of a dual-threat quarterback and they’re built to run the football with Jonathan Taylor and Quenton Nelson at the offensive line position,” Griffin said. “For me, it’s not just the physical traits. At the line of scrimmage at Florida, he controlled everything in the RPO and the running game. He also has that cerebral side to him and he only has one year of starting experience at Florida. That’s why he should go with Shane Steichen.”

With over one month until the 2023 NFL Draft, the Colts currently hold the 4th overall selection. If Richardson is still available at No. 4, the Colts could prove Griffin right and select Richardson.
