Published:
The Florida Gators are hammering the South Carolina Gamecocks 38-14 late in the 3rd quarter.
Tight end Kyle Pitts is once again torching defenses, too, as he’s caught 4 passes for 57 yards and 2 touchdowns. Defenses haven’t been able to stop him at all yet.
Pitts has caught 6 touchdowns in 6 quarters of football, and folks are starting to take notice and mention him for the Heisman Trophy. Can a tight end become a Heisman finalist? We’re about to find out.
The media is reacting to Pitts’ dominant start to the season:
Kyle Pitts should — legitimately — be under very early consideration for the Heisman Trophy. Six touchdowns and 227 yards already in 1.5 games. #Gators

Kyle Pitts has 6 receiving TD so far this season.
That’s tied for the 2nd-most over a 2-game span by an SEC player over the last 25 seasons.
The only player with more, Vanderbilt’s Earl Bennett (7) in 2005. pic.twitter.com/XPzOpU9fEW

A statement: Kyle Pitts is good at football.
Through six quarters this season, the @GatorsFB TE has:

Kyle Pitts should be near the top of anyone’s Heisman Trophy list through five weeks of this season. Never know if it’s going to last, but there’s no question what he has already done and how impossible he looks to cover. #Gators
