As the weather has gotten hotter this year, so has Tim Tebow, as the former Florida quarterback has been hitting .320 for the double-A Binghamton RumblePonies since the calendar flipped to June.

Apparently that has caught the eye of the league’s All-Star committee, as Tebow was honored for his impressive season.

Per MLB.com reporter Anthony DiComo, Tebow is now an All-Star, having been named to the Double-A Eastern League’s All-Star squad on Friday.

Tebow has five home runs and 30 RBI, and his season average is .261. He has 88 strikeouts in 211 at-bats, but has improved as the year has gone on.

It’s looking like Tebow could be called up to the majors (with the New York Mets) this year, perhaps when rosters expand in September. For now, though, he’ll enjoy the All-Star experience.
