Tim Tebow has written a new book that aims to help people have a more meaningful life.

During an interview on CBS Sports Network, Tebow explained that that the book, “Mission Possible: Go create a life that counts,” might have been best for himself as he was leaving high school and transitioning to college.

“It’s such a changing point and a turning point,” Tebow said. “And a point where you’re trying to figure out a whole lot of things. For me, it was a big turning point when you started to get scrutiny on a different level, and I remember so many things that just weren’t true. People would just make stuff up.”

Tebow recalled a change when he focused not on being liked, but being respected.

“We live in a society where so much of it is about being liked,” he said. “… We put a value on your worth based on your likes. But if you say something some people disagree with, they’re going to disheart you, dislike you, unfollow you, right. We’re trying our young people to do whatever it is to be liked, instead of trying to earn people’s respect. What happens when you earn people’s respect, and you have a disagreement, it’s a disagreement, it’s not that big of a deal. … When did disagreeing become the worst thing?”

Tebow’s theory is that there’s been a loss of respect for people, and some don’t know how to earn people’s respect.

The book’s focus aims to help readers in several areas:

  • Identify your priorities
  • Align your responsibilities
  • Elevate convictions over emotions
  • Make decisive, wise, and impactful choices
  • Fuel your drive and passion
  • Set your sights on eternity
