Trevor Etienne is looking to play elsewhere in 2024 after 2 seasons at Florida.

Etienne took to social media on Thursday to announce that he is entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal. He will be a true junior in 2024, giving him 2 full seasons of remaining eligibility.

In 2023, Etienne was Florida’s leader in rushing touchdowns (8), yards per carry (5.7) and yards per game (68.4) while playing in 11 contests, making 1 start. Etienne had a career game in UF’s win over Tennessee, the highlight of Florida’s 5-7 season. Against the Vols, Etienne rushed 23 times for 172 yards and 1 touchdown, earning Doak Walker Running Back of the Week recognition.

Etienne picked up Freshman All-SEC honors in 2022 after logging 118 rushes for 719 yards and 6 touchdowns. He cracked triple digits as a freshman with an 8-carry, 100-yard game in the win over South Carolina and a season-high of 129 yards against Florida State.

During his 2 seasons at UF, Etienne split time in the backfield with Montrell Johnson, a Louisiana transfer who followed Billy Napier to Gainesville. Johnson led the Gators in rushing yards with 817 on 152 carries over 12 games in 2023.

Out of Jennings, Louisiana, Etienne is a former 4-star recruit. He is the younger brother of Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne Jr., a former Clemson standout.
