Late Thursday night, Florida starting quarterback Treon Harris and two freshman cornerbacks — Jalen Tabor and JC Jackson — were pulled over by police for speeding.

Harris, who was driving the car, was charged with a second-degree misdemeanor for speeding, which was first reported by Robbie Andreu of the Gainesville Sun. Officers also found marijuana in the car, but since the vehicle didn’t belong to them and no one admitted to possessing the drug, the police didn’t charge anyone within possession of marijuana.

Friday afternoon, UF released a statement on Harris and Tabor and whether this incident would affect their bowl status for the Gators’ Birmingham Bowl matchup on Jan. 3 against ECU.

“We are aware of the incident and are dealing with it internally and their bowl status hasn’t changed,” a UF spokesperson said.

Jackson had taken a redshirt in 2014 due to a should injury, so he was never expected to play.
