FOX Sports has reportedly replaced Urban Meyer with another legendary college coach
When Urban Meyer left FOX Sports to become the new head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, the network had a big hole to fill when it comes to its college football coverage.
After losing one national championship coach this offseason, FOX Sports turned around and reportedly landed another one.
According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Bob Stoops will replace Meyer as a member of FOX Sports’ pregame college football show Big Noon Kickoff. According to Marchand, FOX Sports has yet to confirm his report.
If you haven’t watched the show, Big Noon Kickoff is FOX’s competitor to ESPN’s College GameDay.
A former defensive coordinator for Steve Spurrier at Florida, Stoops coached Oklahoma from 1999-2016. He led the Sooners to the national title in just his second season, back in 2000, and coached last with the Dallas Renegades of the XFL.
During his time at Oklahoma, he led the Sooners to 10 Big 12 titles. His brother Mark is the head coach of Kentucky.
The Big Noon Kickoff is such a better show than GameDay. Part of that was Meyer and his knowledge/analysis, anymore GameDay seems to be more about the latest player tweets, social media happenings/controversies than football matchups and analysis. Stoops doesn’t strike me as being someone who can carry a studio like Urban could, but there’s no reason he couldn’t surprise and do a great job.
Les Miles will soon be available also.
After LSU a network or two tried him out and decided he’s not cut out for live sports announcing.
lol!!
Les is certainly legendary at this point.
This is not Gator news.
Agree. Meyer not pertaining to Florida does not belong on UF string.
Does this mean XFL 2.1 isn’t coming around?
It’s very hard to like Ohio State and harder to like the Ohio State Meyer created (actually impossible). Personally I would never watch Meyer say anything. Stoops and Oklahoma are not any better.
I’m fine with having someone talk intelligently about football however so don’t scrap that idea.
Sorry ladies, I don’t want to see you or hear you talking about men’s college football or any other men’s sports and this is completely righteous position. If you want to talk about any sport women are playing go for it, and when you are good enough, I’ll watch, but not until.

You’re a real piece of $hit..
