Florida head coach Jim McElwain met with the media Tuesday ahead of spring practice, which starts in six days.
Some of the highlights:
- The team will face logistical challenges at offensive line and linebacker with just seven and five healthy scholarship players, respectively. The team may not hold a traditional spring game.
- TE Jake McGee (broken leg) and LB Antonio Morrison (knee), two of the team’s most important players, will not practice this spring, but are making progress in rehab.
- Jim McElwain will not put a timeline on the quarterback competition. Both Will Grier and Treon Harris will get practice reps with all groups of players.
- Upcoming sophomore Brandon Powell will work primarily at receiver after splitting time between receiver and running back last season.
- Practices will be staged on the soccer and lacrosse fields due to construction.
