Late in the second quarter, Florida forced a three-and-out. On the punt return, all hell broke loose.
Florida drew multiple flags. There was a block in the back on RB Dameon Piecere. There was also a targeting call on LB James Houston resulting in his ejection. While Derek Mason was attending to an injured Vanderbilt player. He began jawing with UF coach Dan Mullen and defensive coordinator Todd Grantham. The jawing between coaches led to the equivalent of baseball’s benches clearing, both sidelines received unsportsmanlike conduct penalties. Because Florida LB Vosean Joseph was on the sideline, it counted as his second unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, resulting in his ejection from the game.
