The Chicago Bears appear to have finally found their kicker.

Former Florida K Eddy Piñeiro was 3-for-3 on field goals Sunday, the most important kick came as time expired.

After Denver took a 14-13 lead with just 31 seconds left, Chicago managed to get in Piñeiro’s range. Bears QB Mitch Trubisky called a timeout with just 1 second left to give Piñeiro a shot at the game-winning kick.

Piñeiro delivered the game-winner, a 53-yard field goal:

When Denver scored to make it 13-12 Chicago, the Broncos went for what they thought was the win, trying to for two points (14-13) instead of one (likely overtime at 13-13). The 31 seconds remaining proved to be just enough time to get Piñeiro a shot.

Piñeiro was almost automatic in his brief Florida career. He spent his NFL rookie season with the Oakland Raiders. Chicago sought to solve its kicking issues by trading to Piñeiro this offseason.
