The Florida Gators have a top 10 recruiting class for 2019. 247Sports Composite Team Rankings were updated Thursday following the recent All-American Games.

With Florida jumping into the top 10 at No. 10, the SEC owns half of the top 10 classes in the country, joining Oklahoma, Clemson, Michigan, Texas and Oregon. Alabama still has the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class followed by No. 2 Georgia and No. 3 Texas A&M. LSU is also ranked No. 5.

The knock against Dan Mullen has been his lack of prowess on the recruiting trail. Everyone knows he can call plays and develop talent among the best in the nation, but his recruiting ability has been viewed as somewhat of a weakness. However, if Florida ends up signing a top 10 class, the criticism could start to soften. Yes, it’s early, but Florida already has the No. 4 recruiting class for 2020, too.

The Gators have nine early enrollees among 21 early signees for 2019. Two commits — 4-star WR Arjei Henderson and 4-star LB Diwun Black — are expected to sign with the Gators in February. Mullen and his staff are also pushing hard for 4-star DB Kaiir Elam, 4-star athlete Mark-Antony Richards and 4-star DL Charles Moore, among others.

Mullen has certainly turned Florida’s program around in a hurry.
