Will Grier was granted a partial release from his scholarship so he may transfer out of Florida. But, as is normal, it will come with restrictions, as was confirmed by the Associated Press:

The SEC restriction and other conference restricts are fairly common when players request a transfer. It also feels likely the Gators would not allow Grier to transfer to Florida State either.

Grier seemed set to return to Florida after serving a yearlong suspension for taking a banned substance. But he surprisingly announced he would transfer this weekend, leaving Florida in a dire quarterbacking situation. But the Gators pledged their support to Grier.

There are just some competitive considerations first.
