Florida State and Boston College have both produced forgettable basketball seasons, but it was time for the Seminoles to deliver a not top-10 moment on Saturday.

Playing at Boston College, the Seminoles had built a 76-72 lead with 14 seconds remaining, an enviable position for most teams to be in. Teams facing a deficit of that nature are usually forced into a quick basket and foul situation, but the Eagles did something even better.

After going the length, of the court, Fred Payne’s layup was blocked but Chad Venning was right there for a quick follow, giving BC 2 points to make it 76-74, FSU. The Seminoles tried to inbound the ball but with disastrous results as AJ Swinton threw the ball away.

Chas Kelley III tracked down the ball, turned and fired a long-range jumper that was nothing but nylon. It gave BC a 77-76 lead, one the Eagles would hold onto for the win.

Here’s how it all went down:

To make the situation even more embarrassing for FSU, Boston College had just 1 ACC victory prior to the stunning game-winning sequence against the Seminoles. Then again, FSU is now riding its own 4-game losing streak in ACC play and is just 4-7 in the conference this year.
