Florida State probably did not expect an innocuous one-second clip from practice to create such a stir. Then again, that would discredit the powerful stretch of social media — and the intense angst created by an 0-2 start.

The Seminoles have been one of the major stories to begin the college football season for all the wrong reasons. Despite being a double-digit favorite in both games to start the season, FSU has tumbled to 0-2 despite entering the season No. 10 on the AP Poll.

With their season already hanging on by a thread, the Seminoles are looking to turn things around in Week 3, and that kind of desperation sometimes leads to intense practice sessions. Now, it’s not to say FSU is not engaging in elite practices, but the appearance of a squirt gun at practice caught the attention of many on social media.

In the brief clip, an FSU player is seen in the background trying to gauge the football for a catch. An assistant is seen in hot pursuit, chasing the Seminole player with what appears to be a Super Soaker aimed at the player.

It could be a tactic to help players focus on concentration, but it provided quite the sight for many. Here’s a look at the fateful water gun clip and the way social media clowned FSU for the practice:
