Mike Norvell announces season-ending injury for key Florida State defender
Mike Norvell has already endured a brutally tough season at Florida State, and it’s only early October. On Wednesday, the Seminoles head coach had more bad news to deal with.
Norvell announced that redshirt senior linebacker DJ Lundy would miss the rest of the 2024 season because of an undisclosed injury.
“He’ll be out for the rest of the year due to injury,” Norvell told reporters after practice on Wednesday.

Lundy was in street clothes before kickoff of last Saturday night’s game against Clemson and didn’t play.
In the 5 games that Lundy has played this season he registered 14 total tackles.
The 6-foot-1, 241-pound Lundy has played in 47 games and recorded 195 total tackles during his FSU career.
Lundy was named honorable mention All-ACC last season after recording 54 tackles, 6 tackles-for-loss, 2 sacks, 4 pass breakups and 1 interception.
Lundy has already redshirted and has played in 5 games this season, so he won’t be able to redshirt again. There is, however, an NCAA hardship waiver that provides an extra year of eligibility if an application is approved.
Norvell did not comment on Lundy’s potential eligibility after the announcement of his injury.
Florida State will face Duke in Week 8.
