Aaron Murray has a unique view of the Georgia quarterback situation given his history as a one-time starting QB in Athens himself.

Murray said on Sirius XM College that the job should be Stetson Bennett’s, and the issue be settled.

“The QB1 for Georgia. Not QB2, not QB1 just for a little bit until JT [Daniels] is healthy,” Murray said. “Because JT was healthy, and JT was the backup. QB1 Stetson Bennett, 13-of-19, 255, 2 touchdowns and the quarterback in the SEC with the most touchdowns over 35 yards. Who said this kid couldn’t throw the ball over 35 yards? You don’t watch football. He has been tremendous letting it rip. Missouri did everything they could to stop the run.”

Murray noted that Georgia had 168 yards, and Missouri dared Georgia to throw the ball down the field.

“Stetson Bennett did and he did a damn good job of doing it,” Murray said. “Good to see some of these receivers getting healthy. Jermaine Burton’s making an appearance. Adonai Mitchell is a young receiver that I think is going to continue to get better and better, and we know Brock Bowers is a stud. Stetson Bennett in about 2 months is going to be the greatest quarterback in Georgia history.”
